Injured Man Outruns Deputies

From Staff Reports

Although hobbled by an ankle injury, a man escaped from Spokane County sheriff’s deputies who had taken him to the hospital for treatment Saturday night.

Deputies arrested Michael P. Groves, 25, on suspicion of second-degree burglary. They took him to Sacred Heart Medical Center where he outran deputies about 7 p.m., said Lt. David Wiyrick, a sheriff’s department spokesman.

Groves was last seen running south about three blocks from the hospital.

Groves is 5 feet, 3 inches tall and weighs 150 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes and was wearing a blue shirt, pants and one shoe.

Wiyrick urged anyone who has seen Groves to use caution and call Crime Check at 456-2233. , DataTimes
