Itron Rings Up $62 Million Sale

From Staff And Wire Reports

Itron Inc. Tuesday announced a $62 million sale to Public Service Co. of Colorado.

The deal calls for an additional 1 million modules that enable utility employees to read power and natural gas meters using a van-based system.

The modules, to be installed in the Denver area over the next two years, will be added to 333,000 already in place. The result will be the largest automatic meter-reading system in the world.

PSC President Wayne Brunetti said performance of the first modules installed exceeded the utility’s expectations.
