Davies, Jones Take Lead

Compiled From Wire Services

Laura Davies and Rosie Jones share the first-round lead in the World Championship of Women’s Golf after 5-under-par 67s at Cheju Island, South Korea.

Hall of Famer Betsy King shared the lead after 17 holes. She three-putted No. 18 and finished with a 68 to tie for third with Pat Bradley.

John Cook shot an 8-under-par 64 and shared the second-round lead of the Las Vegas Invitational with Bob Tway.

Cook and Tway were at 13-under, topping a field of pros who had another field day on the three desert courses.

Tway has a raw score of 130, one stroke ahead of Cook, but both are 13-under because they have played different courses. The last two rounds will be on one course.
