Trio Of Trejo Runs Boosts Touchet

Touchet 56, SJE 28

Top-ranked Touchet (2-0, 6-0) got an early wake-up call from the Eagles (0-2, 2-4), who led 14-13 in the second quarter before the Indians scored 29 straight points.

A.J. Trejo rushed for 150 yards and three touchdowns on 14 carries. St. John-Endicott’s Joe Gering had 20 carries for 177 yards and three TDs.

The fifth-ranked Tigercats (2-0, 4-1) led 38-6 at halftime as Jeremy Daniel passed for five touchdowns, three of them to Joe Kinch, who scored a fourth TD on a 40-yard run.

Brian Maley ran for two Rosalia (0-1, 1-5) touchdowns and passed for another, and teammate David Finley rushed for 129 yards on 12 carries. Daniel was 10 of 13 for 202 yards passing.

Joel Waters got the Wildcats (2-4, 2-4) on the right track with an 83-yard kickoff return for a touchdown on the game’s opening play, then returned a punt 65 yards for a TD in the second period.

Wilbur-Creston’s Casey Kuchenbuch also returned an interception 60 yards for a touchdown against the Cougars (0-5, 0-6). The Wildcats were penalized 20 times.

Hargrave rushed for 165 yards, while Liberty’s Tim Horlacher and Mike Pottratz connected on a pair of late TDs for the Lancers (1-4, 1-4).

The Bulldogs (2-2, 4-2) scored three fourth-quarter touchdowns and Josh Robinson rushed for 185 yards at Deer Park (1-3, 1-5).

Robinson scored on runs of 75 and 59 yards to help offset a fine performance by Deer Park QB Trevor Baker, who completed 16 of 28 passes for 246 yards and a 70-yard TD. Colfax defensive lineman Jacob Keck returned a fumble 80 yards in the first half, stealing the ball from Baker at the Bulldogs’ goal line.

Lakeside quarterback George Petticrew passed for two touchdowns and ran for another as the Eagles pulled away from a onepoint halftime lead at Kettle Falls (0-4, 1-5).

The victory by Lakeside (4-0, 4-2) sets up an important contest next Friday between the Eagles and Chewelah (4-0, 6-0). Petticrew had 100 yards passing.
