New Faces:

Michael King has joined Loulou’s as operations manager. King was hired to help handle an increase in the business due to the recent addition of snowboards and other summer sports lines. King is a former world freestyle champion, US Team member and most recently was the merchandising and marketing director of Gary King Sporting Goods in Anchorage, Alaska.

Fred Reis, living in Liberty Lake, has his Graduate REALTOR Institute (GRI) designation.

The Women Helping Women Fund has selected two new board members:

Karen Robideaux of RW Robideaux and Co. is responsible for the group’s corporate relations and is a community volunteer.

Marti Kransberger is vice president of the Deaconess Medical Center Foundation.

BDO Seidman, LLP, has added two new additions to its staff:

Kevin Cox,a graduate of the University of Idaho, will be working with the audit and accounting staff.

Timothy Hale,graduate of Eastern Washington University, joins as a tax associate. Hale was previously with Eager Beaver Computers.

Tracy Magnuson, MD, has joined Holy Family Hospital’s medical staff. Magnuson received her medical degree from the University of Maryland College of Medicine and specializes in general and vascular surgery.

Bill Swankhas joined Heritage Funeral Home and Crematory as general manager. Swank has 20 years experience in funeral service.

Daniel Peters MD,has joined Holy Family Hospital’s medical staff at Eye Consultants. Peters received his medical degree from the Oral Roberts School of Medicine and is board certified in the field of Ophthalmology.

Eric Green, a graduate of Washington State University, has joined Washington Trust Bank as vice president and trust officer for the Trust and Private Banking Departments. Green has 13 years banking and accounting experience, and has his CPA and CFP licenses.

Joseph Keyes, a graduate of Gonzaga University, has joined American Electronic Sign as an electrical engineer. Keyes will be responsible for troubleshooting the company’s hardware for their electronic signs.

Robert Wood has joined Kootenai Electric Cooperative as manager of finance and accounting. Wood responsibilities will include financial planning and analysis, general accounting, financial and statistical reporting, budgeting, material inventories, cost of service studies, financial forecasts and rate design. Wood was formerly with Puget Sound Power and Light as assistant treasurer.

Daniel Hulsizer a graduate of Whitworth College, has joined the certified public accounting firm of McDirmid, Mikkelsen & Secrest, P.S. Hulsizer, a CPA, has six years prior experience and specializes in the agribusiness industry.

Jessi Webb, a recent graduate of Washington State University, has joined McDirmid, Mikkelsen & Secrest, P.S. as staff account.

Daniel Seely, M.D., M.P.H., has joined Spokane Ear, Nose, and Throat Clinic, P.S. Seely will be focusing his practice on problems associated with the larynx. Seely received his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine, and his surgical internship at Virginia Mason Medical Center, he completed his Otolarynglogy residency at the University of Washington and also received a masters degree in Public Health while there.

Forrest Miller has joined Trico, as loan director. Miller has extensive experience in both rural banking and economic development.

Moving Up:

Tomlinson Black Real Estate has appointed Claudia Kehoe as education director. Kehoe’s responsibilities include agent training on special topics as well as industry clock hour training.

Trevor Schultz has been appointed senior vice president and chief operating officer for Pegasus Gold Inc. Schultz will be responsible for all of Pegasus’ operations, exploration, development, and environmental and government affairs.

Robert Lonergan has been appointed vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary of Pegasus Gold Inc. Lonergan has more than 20 years experience in the legal field primarily working on issues relating to environmental compliance, mergers and acquisitions and business litigation.

David Palm has been promoted to business sales manager from branch manager of First Interstate Bank. Palm will work with customers in eastern Washington and northern Idaho. Palm’s responsibilities will include managing the delivery of small-business related products and services, including loans; providing marketing support, training and motivation to branch sales staff; and working with branch and market mangers on strategy and market analysis.

Elected:

The following officers were elected during the 71st Annual Convention of the Independent Agents in Idaho Inc.:

George Remington, Moscow Insurance Agency, president; James Semick, North Idaho Insurance, vice president/president elect; Mike Martin, Martin Insurance, state national director. Regional directors elected: John Goedde, Panhandle Insurance, representing Region I; Doug Colwell, Harris/Dean Insurance, representing Region III.

The Inland Northwest Treasury Management Association has elected the following officers and board members for 1995-96: President, Vickie Erickson, US Bank of Washington; vice-president, Diana Tourney, Egghead Software; secretary, Sue Price, Spokane Diesel Inc.; treasurer, Ron Cruse, Central Pre-Mix Concrete Co.; membership committee co-chair, Jinny Lunzer, Washington Water Power; membership committee co-chair, Gwen Rushing, Empire Health Services; program committee chair, Ted Rehwald, System TWT Transportation; past president, Ken Hill, Washington Trust Bank.

The Spokane Unit of the American Cancer Society has elected 1995-96 officers:Steve McIntosh, president; Dr. Tom Allerding, vice president; Clint Town, treasurer; and Vicky Dalton, secretary. New board members include: Dr. Dennis Biggs, Jodi Danielson, Dot Lisk, Marilyn Thordarson, Clint Town, and Paul Viren.

Appointed:

The Joint Center for Higher Education board of directors has appointed two executives to leadership positions at the Riverpoint Higher Education Park and SIRTI:

Dr. Terry Novak, from Eastern Washington University, has been appointed director of the JCHE. A Washington agency responsible for coordination of public higher education programs in Spokane and development of the Riverpoint campus.

Lyle Anderson, from Washington State University, was appointed director of SIRTI.

Dr. Terrence Brown, Community Colleges of Spokane chief executive officer, has been asked to serve a two-year term of the national advisory board of the Campus Compact Center for Community Colleges. The center is an advocate for community colleges in service learning and helps promote and implement community service as a means to improve teaching and learning.

John Bennett, president of Tomlinson Black Management Inc., has been appointed 1996 vice-director of Institute of Real Estate Management’s (IREM) legislative affairs division. Bennett has served several chairmanships in the Legislative Affairs Division and served as regional vice president in 1990-91 for a six-state western region.

Kudos:

The Holiday Inn Express, 801 N. Division, has been ranked No. 2 of 1,730 Holiday Inn’s throughout North and South America, based on guest satisfaction surveys.

Shannon Bergeron of Ben Bridge Jewelers NorthTown store has been awarded the title of Registered Jeweler by the American Gem Society (AGS). Bergeron, who has more that 10 years of experience in the jewelry industry, received the certification as a result of her experience, gemological courses and annual examinations.

Starting Up:

Regency Clothiers has announced the opening of their new store at 924 W. Second. They specialize in quality made suits and accessories.

Resource Computing Inc., is now offering LANguard, a unique, on-site service and support program with preventive maintenance for computers, peripherals and local area networks. Three different levels of service will be available, including one-hour response times.
