Man Charged After Shots Fired
Police arrested a Post Falls man Saturday morning after he fired a gun at a man in a grocery store parking lot, Coeur d’Alene police said.
No one was injured during the shooting at the Tidyman’s grocery store on 410 W. Neider Ave.
Jason Irons of Post Falls was arrested on a charge of aggravated assault, according to a Coeur d’Alene police report.
According to police, Irons assaulted Brian Hanni of Rathdrum in the parking lot at about 2:40 a.m. Saturday.
Irons had a .22-caliber automatic handgun and fired at least two shots, according to the report. Hanni was not hit by the bullets and Irons fled from the scene in a car, according to the report.
However, Information that officers
gathered at the shooting scene led them to Irons’ home in Post Falls where he was arrested by Kootenai County Sheriff’s deputies. The weapon was found, according to the report.
Irons is being held at the Kootenai County Jail.
