Two Simpson Jurors Working On Book Pair Upset With Public Reaction To Verdicts, Say Race Not Factor

Two of the jurors who acquitted O.J. Simpson are working day and night on a book they hope will set the public straight about what went on during months of sequestration and the short deliberations.

“I’m very anxious to get this out. Some of the things they (the media and commentators) are saying is ridiculous. There was no race issue in the decision,” juror Gina Rosborough said in a telephone interview Sunday.

Rosborough and Brenda Moran are hoping for a mid-November release date for “Inside the Simpson Jury (The Parallel Universe),” said Bud Stewart, spokesman for Advanced Books. It will be based on their trial journals and diaries kept during nine months of sequestration.

Stewart refused to discuss the money involved in the deal.

Rosborough and Moran were part of the jury that acquitted Simpson Oct. 3 in the slayings of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman. The 12 jurors deliberated less than four hours.

Polls have shown most blacks approve of the acquittal, while most whites disapprove.

“They are very upset about the reaction to the verdicts,” Stewart said. “They feel it is very unfair. Brenda Moran is a five-time juror who convicted two men to prison before, including a black man. Neither one of them sees color.”

Both Rosborough, a 29-year-old postal worker, and Moran, a 45-year-old computer technician, are black.
