Back To Original Order

After shaking up his lineup for Game 5, Seattle Mariners manager Lou Piniella said he’d go back to his original lineup for Game 6 tonight in the Kingdome.

That means slumping Vince Coleman, who was benched Sunday night, would be back in the leadoff spot and struggling Edgar Martinez would move from the second slot back to cleanup.

Mike Blowers also would return at third base after being replaced for a game by Doug Strange.

Martinez, the A.L. batting champion, is stuck in his worst slump of the year. After hitting .571 with 10 RBIs in the five-game win over New York in the first round of the playoffs, he is just 1 for 20 in this series, held to only a single and no RBIs.

“Yeah, I’m so worried I’m going to bench him,” Piniella said Monday during the Mariners’ workout. “No, he’ll be in there. He’ll hit.”
