Incident Investigated

Coeur d’Alene police are investigating the possible molestation of an 79-year-old woman.

A 33-year-old man with brain damage is suspected of molesting the elderly woman at the institution where both reside, according to a Coeur d’Alene Police report.

Police officials would not say where the incident occurred.

A social worker with the Department of Health and Welfare reported the incident Friday. The social worker said a nurse at the institution called about the incident.

On Thursday, the nurse walked into a room and found the man forcing the victim to perform oral sex, according to the report.

The elderly woman is wheelchair-bound.

When the nurse entered the room, the man told her that he was sorry and knew he was wrong, according to the police report.

Lt. Don Jiran said the suspect has not been arrested but has been moved from the institution. xxxx
