No One Injured In Drive-By Shooting

Genuine gunshots were fired in Rathdrum, several hours before a brouhaha with a backfiring car.

Kootenai County Sheriff’s Deputies say it’s unlikely anyone heard the real bullets flying.

No one was hurt when at least three shots were fired at a remote home on Atlas Road east of Rathdrum, said Capt. Ben Wolfinger.

Four people were arrested on charges of firing at a home after an argument turned violent at about 3 a.m.

Those arrested were: David L. Curry, 19, of Post Falls; McLane H. O’Brien, 20, of Woodland, Wash.; Brandon L. Wallis, 20, of Post Falls; and a 17-year-old girl.

The four suspects had been at the home earlier in the morning when an argument started between them and several residents at the house, Wolfinger said.

The four suspects left the home and then came back, firing what deputies believe was a .22-caliber rifle, Wolfinger said.

Three people were at the home when the bullets hit the house. Daniel Eby, 16, Kerri Day, 36, and Curtis Kositzky, 32, were not hurt but called police.

The suspects were arrested a short time later in Post Falls.
