People will have a final chance Tuesday to comment on a proposed management plan to keep Lake Coeur d’Alene clean.
The Clean Lakes Coordinating Council will hold a hearing on the plan starting at 6:30 p.m. in the Kootenai Room of the North Idaho College student union building, 1000 W. Garden Ave.
The plan’s main purpose is to limit the amount of nutrients going into the lake. It could ultimately affect shoreline construction, road building, boating, farming, logging and a variety of other activities in the watershed.
The five-county council could call for adoption of the plan Tuesday night, said staff member Lisa Prochnow. If the council decides on extensive changes, members could schedule another meeting before making a decision.
The next step would be to present the plan to Kootenai and Benewah County commissioners for possible adoption. , DataTimes
