Ivory Coast Massacre Leaves At Least 18 Dead

At least 18 people, most of them children, were massacred on a plantation in central Ivory Coast, the government news agency reported Thursday.

Defense Minister Leon Konan Koffi said Thursday he has sent troops to the area.

A witness who escaped the killings alerted police, the Ivorian Press Agency reported. According to the witness, a group of assailants arrived in the village Monday morning “and began to attack everyone.”
