Two Youths Guilty Of Killing 5-Year-Old

Compiled From Wire Services

A Chicago Juvenile Court judge found two youths, an 11-year-old and a 12-year-old, guilty on Wednesday of murdering 5-year-old Eric Morse by dropping him from the 14th floor of a building last October.

The two offenders, who were caught immediately (but have not been identified because they are juveniles), confessed to the police that they had lured Eric and his 9-year-old brother, Derrick Lemon, into an abandoned apartment in a housing project to punish Eric.

Eric had angered them, the older boys said, because he had refused to steal candy for them.

The boys will be sentenced Nov. 14.
