Pennsylvania Rep Has Heart Surgery
Rep. Curt Weldon underwent heart bypass surgery Friday because of a blocked artery.
Weldon, 48, a fifth-term Pennsylvania Republican, was listed in stable condition after the four-hour operation at Bethesda Naval Hospital outside Washington.
His chief of staff, Doug Ritter, said Weldon would remain in the hospital for about a week and spend four more weeks recuperating at his home in Aston, Pa.
Weldon, who represents the western suburbs of Philadelphia, serves on the House National Security and Science committees.
