Southwest Lures Winter Travelers With One-Way Fares As Low As $19

From Staff And Wire Reports

Spokane travelers will be able to fly to Seattle, Portland or Boise for $19 one-way during a fare sale announced by Southwest Airlines Friday.

The airline cut prices on 21-day advance purchase tickets throughout most of its system, with prices starting as low as $19 for one-way travel on off-peak days.

The sale fares don’t include airport charges of up to $6 each way, depending on destination.

The $19 fares from Spokane are for the Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday flights, according to Southwest officials. Flights on the other days of the week to those three cities will be $27.

The cheapest one-way flights from Spokane to other cities during the sale include: Oakland, $42; Reno, via Boise, $52; and Los Angeles, $97.

Seats are limited and won’t be available on some flights during very busy travel times and holidays.

Nationally, samples of the $19 “Gotta Go Fares” include Chicago to Cleveland and Phoenix to Las Vegas.

The fares aren’t available for travel into and out of Orange County, Calif.

The prices are good through Nov. 7 for travel from Nov. 10 to April 5. The non-refundable tickets must be purchased within one day of making reservations.

Southwest’s low-fare promotions comes on the heels of fall and winter fare sales offered by most major airlines.
