Starship Guitarist To Share Acoustic Tips

Craig Chaquico, former guitarist for notable rock band Jefferson Starship, will give an acoustic guitar seminar at the Music Connection, 440 W. Sharp, at 7 p.m. Monday.

The seminar, sponsored by Hoffman’s Music and Washburn Guitars, is free.

Hoffman’s, with Roland Electronics, will also sponsor a free seminar in electronic percussion and guitar synthesizers at the Music Connection at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Masterclass for strings

Members of the Leontovych String Quartet - violinists Yuri Mazurkevich and Yuri Kharenko, violist Boris Deviatov and cellist Vladimir Panteleyev - will conduct a free masterclass for string players in Eastern Washington University’s Music Building Recital Hall at 9 a.m. Monday. Photographing artwork

“How To Photograph Your Artwork” is a four-hour workshop David Anderson, an accomplished photographer and sculptor, will teach Saturday at Spokane Art School, 920 N. Howard.

Flat-picking workshop

Three-time national flat-picking guitar champ Steve Kaufman will lead a flat-picking guitar workshop Friday and Saturday at the conference center in Connie’s Motel in Sandpoint.
