Suspects Arrested In Home Robbery

From Staff Reports

Two Spokane residents were arrested early Saturday after one allegedly broke into a home on East Crown, assaulted the resident and attempted to elude police, police said.

Connie M. Jagim, 40, and Edwin J. Criswell, 32, both of 2325 E. Mission, were booked into jail early Saturday.

Jagim was being held on charges of first-degree robbery, first-degree burglary and attempting to elude police. Criswell was being held on charges of residential burglary and first-degree robbery.

The victim told police that he was in his bedroom about 3:30 a.m., when he heard someone break in his front door.

Two men demanded some drugs and money they claimed the victim’s roommate had brought to the residence, police said. One of the men allegedly struck the victim several times with a rifle butt.

The two men left the home with a small safe, a microwave and a small box.

Police called to the home spotted a car leaving the area.

The driver attempted to outrun police but ended up on a dirt road, police said. The driver was identified as Jagim. A man caught by police was identified as Criswell.

The other man, identified as “Steve,” escaped.
