In a statement issued through her lawyers, golfer Nick Faldo’s estranged wife Gill said she was “very concerned by inaccurate reports carried in the media over the last few days which suggest that she has been offered a divorce settlement by her husband.”

Faldo announced Monday that he was separating from his wife Gill after 10 years. There were published reports that Faldo offered her a $11.8 settlement.

Faldo, 38, has been linked with 20-year-old American college student Brenna Cepelak, who is on a golf scholarship at the University of Arizona.

The Canadian Football League’s Shreveport Pirates will move to Norfolk next season if the team is able to sell a sufficient number of season tickets.

Majority team owner Lonie Glieberman said that he hasn’t decided on a ticket goal.

Oksana Baiul, a world champion in 1993 and Olympic champion in 1994, dominated the first qualifying competition for the inaugural Riders Ladies Skating Championship in Mankato, Minn.

She scored 119 of a possible 120 points for two routines. The Canadian team of Barbara Underhill and Paul Martini won the pairs competition with 117.6 points.
