Ronald Park Cataldo, Idaho

Service for Ronald Frank Park, 59, will be today at 11 a.m. at English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d’Alene. English Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Park, a former longtime Spokane resident, died Saturday at home.

He was born in Yakima and was raised and educated in Spokane. He graduated from Central Valley High School.

Mr. Park married Gloria Steed in 1955.

He worked as manager of Raffs Shoes in Spokane from the mid-1950s to the early 1960s. He then worked for Sperry-Hutchison as a district manager in Portland.

He moved back to Spokane in 1972 and began a two-year career in real estate. He moved to the Silver Valley in 1974 and worked as a contract miner.

He loved music and fishing and was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church. He also loved playing with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, at home; one son, Timothy Park of Cataldo; three daughters, Debra Cloos of Boise, Ronda Crawford of Kingston, Idaho, and Trina Eversole of Kellogg; his father, Alvin Park of Post Falls; one brother, Terry Park of Sandpoint; one sister, Carol Jaquot of Post Falls; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Paul Miles Clarkston, Wash.

Memorial service for Paul Edward Miles, 31, will be Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Malcom’s Brower-Wann Memorial Chapel in Lewiston. Malcom’s BrowerWann Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Miles, born in Clarkston, died last Thursday of injuries suffered in an automobile accident near Culdesac, Idaho.

He lived in Lewiston until moving to Clarkston in 1974. He moved to Spokane in 1979 and graduated from high school in 1983.

He returned to Spokane in 1985 and attended Spokane Community College for several years. He went on to attend Eastern Washington University and graduated in 1990 with a bachelor of arts degree in business.

After graduating, he lived in Milton-Freewater, Ore., and worked as a fitness coordinator.

He returned to Clarkston in 1992.

Mr. Miles was a certified fitness trainer and enjoyed music and playing the piano. He also enjoyed working out in the gym and had an extensive comic book collection.

Survivors include his parents, Paul and Edith Miles, both of Clarkston; one brother, Mark Miles of Clarkston; and his grandmother, Olga Mannon of Milton-Freewater.

Laureen Chitty Spokane

Memorial service for Laureen Ann Chitty, 41, is set for 2 p.m. Saturday at First Assembly of God. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-South is in charge of cremation.

Mrs. Chitty, a lifetime Spokane resident, died Oct. 18.

She graduated from Rogers High School and Mr. Lee Beauty School and had worked as a beautician.

She is survived by her husband of 17 years, Leon Chitty; her parents, Harry and Doris McLean of Spokane; two brothers, Harry McLean Jr. of Spokane and Larry McLean of Tucson, Ariz.; and one sister, Darleen Strange of Spokane.

Raymond Buckwalter Kellogg

Memorial service for Raymond W. Buckwalter, 93, will be today at 10 a.m. at the Mountain Valley Care and Rehabilitation Center in Kellogg. Burial will follow at Cleveland Cemetery in North Dakota. Shoshone Funeral Service of Kellogg is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Buckwalter, who was born in North Dakota, died Saturday in Kellogg.

He moved to the Silver Valley in 1937. He worked for the Bunker Hill Co. before retiring. He was a member of the Bunker Hill 20-Year Club.

Survivors include a brother, Charles of Bayview, Idaho; a sister, Mary Johnson of North Dakota; and several nieces and nephews.

Willard Powell St. Maries

Service for Willard Burton “Bill” Powell, 88, will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the St. Maries Church of Latter-day Saints. Yates-Hodge Funeral Home of St. Maries is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Powell, who was born in Powers Lake, N. D., died Saturday.

He moved to Spokane with his family in 1919 and attended school there. After completing his education, he married Dorothy Carner in Yakima. She died in 1934.

In 1937, he married Wilma Bauer in Spokane. They moved to St. Maries in 1943.

He worked as a truck driver for government work projects and later drove a logging truck for local logging companies until his retirement in 1968.

He became a cattle and dairy rancher after his retirement.

He was preceded in death by his second wife in 1992.

Survivors include two sons, Red and Dennis, both of St. Maries; two daughters, Anita Eadus of St. Maries and Janice Kienbaum of Spokane; four sisters, LaDella Kennedy of Clarkston, Wash., and Marna Estep and Ruth Waters, both of Spokane, and Lila Selig of Alaska; 18 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.

Hazel Palmer Spokane

Funeral Mass for Hazel R. Palmer, 90, is planned for 11 a.m. today at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

A lifetime Spokane resident, Mrs. Palmer died Sunday.

She worked for more than 25 years as a sales clerk for The Crescent department store and retired in 1967.

She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Parish and the Corbin Center and had volunteered with the election board for several years.

Her husband, Edward Palmer, died in 1971.

Survivors include three daughters, Shirley Lutz of Anchorage, Alaska, and Carol Gibson and Jackie Hafner, both of Spokane; one sister, Ethel Folwell of Spokane; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Irminia Savitz Spokane

Graveside service for Irminia Savitz, 98, is set for 10:45 a.m. today at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Savitz, who was born in Leadville, Colo., died Monday.

She was an early resident of the Skagit Valley in Mount Vernon, Wash., and moved to Spokane 50 years ago with her husband, Samuel.

A homemaker, she was a member of St. Mary’s Parish.

She is survived by one nephew, Joe Lamping, and one niece, Clara Allen, both of Spokane.

Arthur Hegle Spokane

Private service for Arthur N. Hegle, 93, is planned. Heritage Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of cremation.

Mr. Hegle, who died Monday, was a lifetime Spokane resident and graduated from high school here.

He was a self-employed carpenter from 1943 until 1980 and was a member of the Carpenters Union. He was also a member of the Lutheran Church.

His wife of 63 years, Ardis Hegle, died earlier.

He is survived by one daughter, Gale Creager of Spokane; and one great-nephew, Stephen Carter.

Celena Coldsnow Spokane

Memorial service for Celena Midori Coldsnow, 17, was Wednesday at Riplinger Funeral Home.

Celena died Sunday of a brain tumor.

She was a lifetime Spokane resident.

She is survived by one son, Trevion; her mother, Grace Coldsnow of Spokane; her father John Coldsnow of Monroe, Wash.; two sisters, Angela and Keri Coldsnow, both of Spokane; and her grandparents, Roy and Hisako Akiyama of Spokane.

Richard Long Spokane

Vigil service for Richard Harden “Dick” Long, 65, is planned for 7 p.m. today at Thornhill Valley Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial with military honors will be at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery.

Mr. Long, who was born in Butler, Pa., died Oct. 17 in Munich, Germany, while on vacation.

He was a retired Air Force master sergeant and had served 20 years.

Mr. Long worked for Old National Bank and retired as a vice president of West One Bank earlier this year.

He was a 19-year Spokane resident and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife, Emma Long; three daughters, Reny Archer and Tina Nordstrom, both of Spokane, and Peggy Scarcello of Rathdrum, Idaho; one son, Richard Long of Spokane; two brothers, Jack Long of Cincinnati and Tom Long of Miami; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Ida Mae Eppley Spokane

Memorial service for Ida Mae (Louderback) Eppley, 96, will be at 2 p.m. today at Fowler United Methodist Church. Private burial will precede at Greenwood Memorial Terrace. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Eppley died Sunday in Colville, Wash., where she had recently moved.

She was born in Leroy, Kan.

Mrs. Eppley moved to Spokane with her husband, Glen Eppley, and their family, in 1945.

She had taught school in Kansas and was a homemaker.

She was a member of Fowler United Methodist Church, Order of the Eastern Star, Amaranth and Golden Chain.

Her husband died in 1946.

She is survived by one son, Richard Eppley of San Diego; one daughter, Janet McLain of Colville; five grandchildren and three great-granddaughters.

Annie Melvin Coeur d’Alene

Service for Annie Melvin, 86, will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d’Alene. Burial will follow at Forest Cemetery in Coeur d’Alene. English Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Melvin, who was born in Newman Lake, died Sunday.

She was raised on the family farm in Newman Lake and later married Raymond Melvin.

After her marriage, she moved to Coeur d’Alene and worked for the U.S. Forest Service until her retirement. She also worked for General Instrument in Post Falls.

Mrs. Melvin enjoyed sewing, crocheting, flower gardening, camping, fishing and hunting.

She was preceded in death by her husband, and her 20-year companion, Herb McAvoy.

Survivors include a brother, Louie Miller; two sisters, Lydia Bakken and Elsise Becker, both of Spokane; four grandchildren, eight greatgrandchildren and one great-greatgrandchild.

Megan Wade Spokane

Memorial service for Megan Marie Wade, 48, will be at 11 a.m. today at St. Augustine Catholic Church. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Wade, a lifetime Spokane resident, died Sunday.

She is survived by her mother, Margaret Nevers of Spokane; and one sister, Katherine Doherty of Bellevue, Wash.

Eileen Denman Spokane

Service for Eileen K. Denman, 75, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Riplinger Funeral Home. Cremation will follow.

Mrs. Denman died Sunday.

She was a lifetime Spokane resident.

She graduated from North Central High School.

She was a homemaker and was a seamstress who made clothing ranging from baby clothes to wedding gowns.

She is survived by three daughters, Denine Blystone and Janell Neumiller, both of Spokane, and Vicki Shaw of Texas; one son, Wayne Denman, of Spokane; one sister, Ardell Austin of Colbert; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children.

Viola Lee Newport, Wash.

No service will be held for Viola Marie Lee, 87. Inurnment will be at the Newport Cemetery. Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Lee, a former Idaho Hill area resident, died Oct. 18.

She was born in Hayward, Wis.

She had worked for Honeywell in Minneapolis and moved to Idaho Hill in 1968. She moved to Newport in 1972.

Mrs. Lee was a member of ladies bowling leagues for 25 years and also was a member of the Honeybells, the Newport Eagles Auxiliary and Pythian Sisters.

Her husband, Oscar Lee, died in 1992.

She is survived by two sisters-in-law, both of Wisconsin.
