Nic Notes Literacy Day With Read-A-Thon

Clear your throats, pack your children’s books and head on down to the Rock’n Read-a-Thon Wednesday at the Harding Family Center.

North Idaho College Even Start program is celebrating National Family Literacy Day with a read-a-thon from 1 to 7 p.m. at the center, 411 N. 15th St.

Even Start is inviting people to drop by the center and read a book to children or bring their children to the center to hear the stories. The goal is to read as many books as possible in those six hours.

The event is also a book- and fund-raiser for the Even Start program. Bring used children’s books or make a donation for the purchase of new books.

Even Start is part of the federally funded Head Start program, and is devoted to improving family literacy.
