Jfk’s European Diary To Be Published

A newly discovered diary kept by John F. Kennedy during a tour of Europe six weeks after World War II ended will be published on the 32nd anniversary of his assassination, the publisher said Friday.

The diary includes the 28-year-old Kennedy’s observations about the future of post-war Europe 16 years before he became president, said Alfred S. Regnery, president of Regnery Publishing in Washington, D.C.

The publishing company obtained the diary from Deirdre Henderson of Cambridge, Mass., a research assistant to Kennedy in 1959 and 1960, when he was a senator. Regnery would not say how Henderson obtained the diary and why she waited so long to come forward with it.
