Peter Forsch Accepted As Land Institute Member

Peter Forsch, executive vice president of McCormack Properties of Idaho Inc., was accepted as a full member of the Urban Land Institute.

The institute is a nonprofit research and education organization which provides leadership in land use to enhance the environment.

Forsch has more than 25 years of experience in real estate.

Bryan Hanson, investment representative with Edward D. Jones & Co., Moscow, Idaho, has been named to the All-American Team of The American Funds Group of mutual funds. Hanson was cited for outstanding service to Moscow-area investors and for excellence in financial counseling in mutual fund investments and variable annuity contracts.

He has been with Edward D. Jones & Co. since 1981 and in the financial services field for 15 years.

Marna Sellers Bateman has been selected as one of 200 registered nurses in the United States to participate in a grantfunded research and education project sponsored by the Oncology Nursing Society.

Bateman is administrative director of the North Idaho Cancer Center/Oncology Services, Kootenai Medical Center, in Coeur d’Alene.

Holly Peterson and Ginger Toivonen, faculty members at Montana Tech Learning Center The University of Montana, have received the Coeur d’Alene Mines Corporation’s Outstanding Faculty Achievement Awards. They each received a $2,500 cash award.

Peterson, who advises more than 100 students each year, is an associate professor in environmental engineering. She acquired about $400,000 in research grants to conduct groundbreaking research in atmospheric diffusion and turbulence.

She also obtained the school’s first contract with the Department of Defense.

Toivonen is an associate professor of mathematics and computer science and co-director of the Tech Learning Center.

She obtained grants for in-service instruction for high school students and teachers from kindergarten through grade 12. She was instrumental in implementing the school’s Expanding Your Horizons Program for girls in grades six through 12. She has taught math at Montana Tech for more than 10 years.
