Bruno’s Future In The Air

Compiled From Wire Services

It took Frank Bruno four world title fights in nine years to become heavyweight champion. That’s why promoter Don King advised him not to rush into a rematch with Mike Tyson.

“He dropped the gauntlet to Tyson and Tyson is ready to accept it,” King said the day after the Briton took the WBC title from Oliver McCall.

“But Frank’s won the title and now he should take a little time to enjoy it. For the next six to nine months he can enjoy his family and content himself, because he’s going to make millions when he does fight.”

The two biggest options for Bruno would be rematches with Tyson, who beat him in five rounds in 1989, and fellow Briton Lennox Lewis, who won in seven rounds in 1993.
