Colombian Guerrillas Kill Unarmed Soldiers

Compiled From Wire Services

Leftist guerrillas killed 10 army troops in attacks this weekend, including three off-duty soldiers relaxing in a bar, the military said Sunday.

Gunmen shot the three unarmed soldiers, who were in civilian clothes, in a bar Sunday in Barrancabermeja, 160 miles north of the capital, Bogota.

Authorities blamed urban militias linked to the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, the largest of several rebel groups that have been fighting the state for more than 30 years.

Guerrillas from the same group killed four soldiers in an ambush Saturday in San Vicente del Caguan, 175 miles south of Bogota, said army commander Gen. Harold Bedoya.
