Daly Pulls Out

Compiled From Wire Services

British Open champion John Daly withdrew from the Canadian Open, further depleting the field that includes only three of the top-10 money leaders and 20 of the first 50.

Daly, who has had only one week off since winning at St. Andrews in July, called the PGA Tour’s office and left a voice-mail message saying he would not play. U.S. Ryder Cup player Brad Faxon, whose wife is expecting the couple’s third child, withdrew last week.

Jack Nicklaus, who designed the Glen Abbey course, was inducted into the Canadian Golf Hall of Fame along with Canada’s Moe Norman.
