Gun Goes Off In Restaurant Robbery

A gun went off Wednesday afternoon at a north Spokane restaurant when a clerk scuffled with a robber.

No one was seriously injured during the robbery at Taco Taco, 3422 N. Division, the Spokane Police Department said.

The trouble began at 4 p.m. when a man entered the store with a white towel covering his face, police said.

The robber tried to steal the clerk’s wallet and a scuffle ensued. The gun went off and the robber fled through the restaurant’s rear door.

The clerk suffered a cut on the face.

Police described the robber as a white male in his 20s, 6 feet tall and 160 pounds. He wore a white baseball hat, light blue checked shirt, jeans and white tennis shoes.
