Green Strong Preference In Carpets
Interior designer Kitty Bartholomew, host of “You’re Home” on the Home & Garden Cable Network, calls floors a room’s fifth wall and an essential contributor to the personality of any room.
The colors to watch in carpets and rugs come in shades that depend on green, blue and yellow as their jumping-off points, according to Bartholomew. Green remains one of the strongest color preferences today on the carpet front.
Carpet manufacturers are reporting brisk sales of forest green and teal but note that greens warmed with brown and yellow hues, such as avocado and olive, are increasingly popular again, according to the Carpet and Rug Institute, a national trade association representing carpet and rug manufacturers.
