Airliner Goes Down In Jungle, Killing 21

An airplane with 21 people on board crashed in bad weather in the jungles of southern Colombia on Saturday, killing all 21 people on board, the civil aviation authority said.

The plane was owned by the state airline Satena, and was flying from Villavicencio, 45 miles south of the capital Bogota, to La Macarena, 130 miles south of Villavicencio.

All 21 people aboard, including four crew members and 17 passengers, were killed, said Jaime Mayorga, a civil aviation authority search and rescue inspector.
