Conferences Will Let Area Voters Get Their Licks In

CityVote and The Spokesman-Review want the presidential candidates to hear what people are saying about environmental issues.

So, citizens of Spokane and Kootenai counties are invited to host backyard forums we’re calling the Ice Cream Conferences to get this conversation going.

You gather with a dozen or so family, friends and co-workers to talk about what government should, and shouldn’t do, about environmental issues.

CityVote will give you a $20 gift certificate good at area supermarkets to buy ice cream refreshments.

Eat the ice cream, record highlights of your discussions, and send these back to The Spokesman-Review. (We provide a stamped envelope.)

The paper will publish the best of your discussions.

CityVote will use your comments to develop questions for the presidential candidates’ debate scheduled Oct. 22 in Spokane.

Ice Cream Conference hosts will receive two free tickets to the debate.

Time is short and the offer is limited.

If you want to host a CityVote Ice Cream Conference call or fax The Spokesman-Review with your name and address and we will send you a packet. Telephone: 509-459-5430 or fax: 509-459-5482.
