Man Shot; Pair Questioned

From Staff And Wire Reports

Spokane police were questioning two suspects in a shooting Tuesday night in the West Central neighborhood in which one person was shot in the shoulder.

Spokane police Lt. Al Odenthal said the victim’s injuries are serious but not life-threatening. He was taken to Deaconess Medical Center.

Police wouldn’t identify the victim or suspects. All are male and in their late teens or early 20s, Odenthal said.

The suspects were being questioned after the shooting about 8:30 p.m., Odenthal said.

In addition, police spoke with six to eight witnesses near North Nettleton south of West Dean.

Odenthal said a single gunshot was fired after some sort of confrontation in the street.

“We know very little at this point,” he said.
