Roberts Out

Outfielder Bip Roberts of the San Diego Padres broke a bone in his right leg Wednesday when he was hit by a pitch in the bullpen. He is probably out for the season.

Roberts’ fibula was fractured when he was struck by a pitch thrown by teammate Andy Ashby.
