Washington Man Wanted In California Caught

Whitman County deputies Wednesday arrested a Farmington man wanted in California for 47 felonies, from practicing medicine without a license to forgery, the sheriff’s department said Thursday.

Hugh C. Johnson, 50, was arrested on a warrant from Santa Rosa in California’s Sonoma County.

Johnson was wanted by several California law enforcement agencies on eight counts of worker’s compensation insurance fraud, 11 counts of practicing medicine without a license, eight counts of prescribing controlled substances and 18 counts of forgery. Other charges include being a felon in possession of a weapon and forgery of a physical therapy license.
