Get A Hunch, Bet A Bunch

Now, let’s get this straight. Wildwood Mac ran second as the favorite in the $117,000 Gottstein Futurity at Yakima Meadows, and hardly anyone thinks he’s going to win the $5,000 added Kindergarten Stakes today at Playfair?

Well, yeah. The reasoning goes that Wildwood Mac has an unfavorable post position, that he’s not much of a sprinter and, most of all, he may be pretty far behind early in a field full of horses which want to lay fourth.

I’ve bought it all. No Passing Piney looks like a horse on the way up. Chirrup, Invest In Festin and Saltfirstthenlemon seem to have bright futures, too. Wildwood Mac? Almost everyone will like him when we reach the Juvenile His and the Spokane Futurity.

Here are today’s selections: A $5 daily double pairing OREO OREO GO in the first race with PLAYFUL MOON in the second.

THIRD: $10 to win on TURN THE KEY.

FIFTH: $5 quinellas pairing LINGERHOF with POSTWAR HERO and STEADY FIRE ($10).

SIXTH: $20 to win on TIA’S DESERT STORM and $5 quinellas pairing him with ABE’S MESSENGER and IM TUFF STUFF ($10).

EIGHTH: $5 quinella baseball combining NO PASSING PINEY, CHIRRUP and INVEST IN FESTIN ($15).

TENTH: $1 trifectas wheeling MONSIER FRIJOLES to HOLLYWOOD LEGEND, KYLE’S ACE and SQUAWK IDENT ($12).

Original bankroll: $2,000.

Present bankroll: $1,900.80.
