Montani, last year’s filly and mare champion, makes her seasonal debut today in the eighth race, a sprint that has attracted another 1994 standout, Return Key.

Montani has prepped well in Yakima. Return Key ratified last season’s form with good efforts in Boise. Return Key will lay closer to the pace, and she might be the better sprinter of the two.

In another interesting event, marathon champ Shawn Boy makes his 1995 debut in the ninth race. The Molson Million from Woodbine, runs after the second race.
