Police Arrest Two In Beating, Robbery

Two men were charged with beating and robbing a man in an alley early Saturday.

The victim told police two men approached him in an alley near Second Avenue and Madison about 3:45 a.m. One of the men hit the man in the face and the two made off with the man’s leather jacket, sunglasses and wallet.

Police arrested Darrel R. Ward, 27, and Jerry L. Thone, 27, for the attack. The two men matched descriptions the victim gave of his attackers. Police said they recovered the man’s belongings and a marijuana pipe from Ward and Thone.

Ward, who gave his address as 111 S. Pittsburg, and Thone, who said he lived at 3110 N. Addison, were booked into the Spokane County Jail on robbery charges.

The victim was not seriously injured. , DataTimes
