Teenagers Held On Gun Charges

From Staff And Wire Reports

Spokane police arrested two teenagers early Friday after they found a loaded handgun in their car.

Officers had stopped the two 17-year-olds for a traffic violation at the intersection of Boone and Belt. Discovering the teens both had a record of felony convictions, police asked for and received permission to search their car.

Police said they found a loaded .45 caliber handgun hidden under the front seat. The gun had been stolen from an acquaintance, police spokesman Dick Cottam said.

The teens were booked into Spokane County Juvenile Detention.

One was charged as a felon in possession of a firearm, the other for unlawful possession of a firearm. , DataTimes
