Eastern Grabs Volleyball Win In Home Opener

Eastern Washington successfully opened its volleyball home schedule with a 15-10, 15-9, 15-12 victory over Southeast Missouri Sunday afternoon at Reese Court.

Eastern (3-8) was led by the 17 kills of senior Kellie Glaus, who has recorded 79 kills in her last five matches. Freshman Kim Exner added 16 kills and four blocks and Jaime Dotson finished with 44 assists, eight digs and three blocks.

Leah Williams had 13 kills and seven blocks as the Colorado Buffaloes beat the visiting Gonzaga Bulldogs in four games. Nicole Lamoure had eight kills, two aces and 20 assists for the Bulldogs.

Men’s soccer

Charlie Lynch scored with under two minutes remaining to give the Cal-State Fullerton Titans a 3-2 victory over the Gonzaga Bulldogs in Fullerton, Calif.

Ben Cater scored both goals for the Bulldogs.

Women’s soccer

Susan Mendez scored San Diego State’s first goal less than a minute into the game as the Aztecs handily defeated the Gonzaga Bulldogs (0-5) 4-0 in Albuquerque, N.M.

Cross country

Maggie Hurst came away with a fourth-place finish at the Aztec Cross Country Invitational in San Diego on Saturday as the University of Idaho placed fourth.
