David Perry Cocolalla, Idaho

Funeral service for David Darrell Perry will be today at 2 p.m. at Coffelt’s Moon Chapel in Sandpoint, and interment will follow at Westmond Cemetery in Westmond, Idaho. Coffelt Funeral Service in Sandpoint is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Perry, who was born in Moravia, Idaho, died Wednesday in Spokane.

He grew up and attended schools locally and graduated from Sandpoint High School in 1954. He worked for Pack River Lumber in Dover, Idaho, for almost 30 years, retiring in 1985.

He married Evelyn Meneely in 1989 and moved to Cocolalla.

He loved all sports, especially baseball and football. He also enjoyed feeding and watching wildlife in Cocolalla.

He loved his family and friends, and his grandchildren were important to him.

He was preceded in death by his father, a brother, and his grandparents.

Survivors include his wife, at home; three sons, Mike, of Sagle, Mark of Snohomish, Wash., and Pat of Sandpoint; his mother, Mary Perry of Dover; one brother, Paul Perry of Sandpoint; sisters, Wauneta Zantow of Dover, Arlene Kalb of Sandpoint, Dolores Herman of Kalispell, Mont., and Nancy Crabb of Bonners Ferry; four stepchildren, Pam Scott of Colorado Springs, Colo., Jaylin Chapman of Sandpoint, and Bonnie Jacobs and Jim Collins, both of Cut Bank, Mont.; 20 grandchildren; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Oscar Dierckins Longview, Wash.

Service for Oscar Dierckins, a former Medical Lake resident, was held. McVicker’s Chapel on the Hill in Kelso, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Dierckins, who died Tuesday, was born in Cumberland, Wis.

He was 86.

He had been a maintenance supervisor for the state and retired in 1974.

He had lived in Longview for 21 years.

He was a member of the Washington State Retired Public Employees.

His first wife, Esther, died in 1983.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce; two step-daughters, Judy Weber of Woodland, Wash., and Linda Schrock, of Woodland, Calif; one son, Richard Dierckins of Blacksburg, Va.; two grandchildren; eight stepgrandchildren; four great-grandchildren and 11 step-great-grandchildren.

Maurice Dashiell Spokane

Memorial service for George Maurice “Dash” Dashiell, 77, is set for 10 a.m. today at Riplinger Funeral Home. A second memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. at Cedonia (Wash.) Community Church.

Mr. Dashiell, who died Thursday, was born in Dallas, Ore.

He graduated from Columbia High School in Hunters, Wash., and served in the Navy during World War II.

He had lived in Spokane for more than 53 years and was a truck driver.

He was a member of Teamsters Local No. 690, and a charter member of the Teamsters Retiree Association.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Letha Mae Dashiell; two sons, Ron and Jim Dashiell, both of Spokane; two daughters, Linda Neely of Newman Lake, and Janice Thames of Freemont, Calif.; four sisters, Thelma Guenther of Deer Park, Mildred Ellsworth of Hunters, Wash., Melba Brinnon of Spokane, and Barbara McClanahan of Pomeroy, Wash.; and five grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Cedonia Community Church.

Lillie Starkel Odessa

Service for Lillie B. Starkel, 87, will be at 1 p.m. today at Christ Lutheran Church in Odessa. Burial will be at Odessa Cemetery. Strate Funeral Home in Odessa is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Starkel died Monday. She was born in Wilbur, Wash.

She and her husband, George, moved to Marlin, Wash., where they farmed. They lived there for 37 years. Her husband died in 1964.

Mrs. Starkel then moved to Odessa, where she worked at Memorial Hospital for 20 years.

She was a member of Cannawai Grange and the Presbyterian church.

She is survived by four daughters, Carol Spiies of Marlin, Gloria Doak of Moses Lake, Joyce Oberg of Wilson Creek, Wash., and Josephine Disciascio of Odessa; one son, Jerry Starkel of Marlin; one brother, Lester Webley of Colville; 13 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Harry Wollweber Spokane

Service for Harry G. Wollweber, 74, will be at 2 p.m. today at Thornhill Valley Funeral Home. Burial will be at Pines Cemetery.

Mr. Wollweber, who was born in Tum Tum, Wash., died Friday.

He served in the Army during World War II and worked for the Hygrade meat packing plant as a butcher for 22 years. He retired in 1978 and had lived in Spokane for 58 years.

His wife, Dorothy Wollweber, died in 1977.

He is survived by five daughters, Pat Wollweber and Evelyn Baker, both of Spokane, Jo Miller of Liberty Lake, Elsie Kuchler of Newman Lake, and Gayle Hoiland of Rose Lake, Idaho; one son, Ed Taylor of Greenacres; two sisters, Stella Emerson of Spokane and Alice Bond of Davenport; 25 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
