Serial Killer Gets 50 Years To Life Term

Serial killer Joel Rifkin was sentenced to 50 years to life in prison on Monday for the murders of two women whose bodies he dumped in 1993.

Judge John Jones gave Rifkin two consecutive 25-years-to-life terms in the slayings of Leah Evens and Lauren Marquez, both 28. He pleaded guilty Aug. 24.

Rifkin, who told police he killed 17 women in all, already is serving a 27-years-to-life sentence for the murder of a woman whose body was found in the back of his pickup truck when he was first arrested in 1993.
