Justice Tells Nation To Ignore Whiners

Compiled From Wire Services

“People will always be treated unfairly,” Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas said Friday, and society should just quit paying so much attention to them.

In remarks at the national meeting of the Federalist Society, Thomas said too much attention is paid to people who claim to be victims of something instead of rewarding those who have triumphed over adversity.

He said a de-emphasis on heroism will only encourage more and more people “to think they must claim victim status to get anywhere.”

Instead, Thomas said, more attention should be focused on heroes, personal responsibility, self-determination and less dependence on government.
