Launching Bargain

By The Spokesman-Review

Boating

Boaters can save 50 percent on boat launching fees under a discount program being offered at Washington state parks.

Boaters who regularly use state park boat ramps can purchase the $40 annual boat launch permit for only $20 until the end of the year.

The permit allows unlimited launchings at state parks in 1995. The daily fee for launching remains at $3 or $4, depending on the boat launch being used.

The boat launch permit may be purchased in person at any state park with a boat launch or from parks offices in Olympia, Burlington, Auburn and Wenatchee.

Send a $20 check or money order, made out to the Washington State Treasurer, to State Parks Headquarters, P.O. Box 42650, Olympia, WA, 98504-2650.

The request must include the boater’s name, address and tow-vehicle license number.
