The Spokane Symphony Orchestra Saturday Night At The Opera House

Travis Rivers, Correspondent

“A prolonged standing ovation by a standing-room-only audience gave the symphony a rousing start for its 50th season. The orchestra responded with brilliance and delicacy to conductors Donald Thulean, Gunther Schuller and Fabio Mechetti. The evening’s most touching moments came in a conductorless performance of Barber’s Adagio for Strings in memorial tribute to Bruce Ferden.”
