Realtors Collect Food For Hungry

Compiled From Wire Services

Spokane Realtors will distribute plastic grocery bags this week for a food drive Saturday to support the Spokane Food Bank.

Spokane and Valley residents should look for plastic grocery bags with food drive reminders today and Thursday.

Residents can fill the bags with non-perishable foods to donate to the food bank. Realtors will return Saturday morning to collect the bags.

The most needed food items are canned soups, stews, chili, peanut butter in plastic jars, tuna fish, fruit, vegetables, tomato sauce, pastas, dry milk powder and easy-to-prepare boxed entrees.

Home-canned, perishable and unlabeled or opened products can’t be accepted.

All the food collected will be delivered to the Spokane Food Bank for distribution.
