Two Arrested After High-Speed Chase

From Staff And Wire Reports

A high-speed chase through Post Falls Tuesday landed two Spokane men in jail and a stolen truck back where it belonged, Post Falls police officials said.

Corey Austin, 20, and Charles Swecker, 23, both of Spokane, were arrested Tuesday.

At about 11:40 a.m., a Post Falls resident called police and reported a suspicious looking vehicle in the area.

When officers found the truck and tried to pull it over, it sped away, they reported.

Officers chased the truck to the area of Ninth and Henry. Two men left the truck and fled on foot, but were found after a brief search by Post Falls officers and Kootenai County sheriff’s deputies.

The truck had been stolen about two hours earlier in Spokane. One of the suspects was wearing an empty holster and officers later found a loaded pistol in the area where the men were arrested. , DataTimes
