Bob Quigley St. Maries

Memorial service for Bob D. Quigley, 53, will be today at 4 p.m. at the Yates-Hodge Funeral Home in St. Maries. Yates-Hodge Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Quigley, who was born in Salmon, Idaho, died Monday in St. Maries following an extended illness.

He grew up and was educated in Salmon. As a young man, he traveled the rodeo circuit and worked on cattle ranches.

He married Shirley Yarber in St. Maries in 1964 and later joined the Army.

He returned to St. Maries in 1969, following his military discharge, and worked as a sawyer for area logging companies. He recently worked for Scott and Sons Logging.

Mr. Quigley enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and horseback riding. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of St. Maries.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Steve, in 1993.

Survivors include his wife, at home; two sons, Ralph and Dale, both of St. Maries; and one sister, Barbara Banks of Wasilla, Alaska.

Charley Sommerfeld Sandpoint

Graveside service for Charley Albert Sommerfeld, 87, will be today at 3 p.m. at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Sandpoint. Coffelt Funeral Service of Sandpoint is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Sommerfeld, who was born in Spencer, Neb., died Monday near Sagle, Idaho.

He grew up and attended schools in Gregory, S.D., and married Nonna La Prath in Spencer in 1931.

He was preceded in death by his wife.

Mr. Sommerfeld’s survivors include two daughters, Deloris Roberson and Lana Kay, both of Sandpoint; two brothers, Friel Sommerfeld of North Bend, Ore., and Martin Sommerfeld of Gregory; two sisters, Mable Blackmore of Tonasket, Wash., and Clara Eisenhour of Casper, Wyo.; nine grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ruth Danielson Spokane

Service for Ruth M. Danielson, 93, will be at 11 a.m. today at Sunset Mausoleum Chapel at Fairmount Memorial Park. Hazen and Jager Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Danielson, who died Sunday., was born in Anaconda, Mont.

She had worked as a clerkstenographer for the federal government and retired in 1967. She was a longtime Spokane resident.

Mrs. Danielson was a member of Eagles Lodge No. 2 Auxiliary, the Lilac City Business and Professional Women, the Royal Neighbors of America and the Independent Order of Foresters.

Her husband, Erick Danielson, preceded her in death.

Survivors include two daughters, Violet Danielson and Diane Klemz, both of Spokane; one son, Gerald Danielson of Spokane; one brother, James Olson of Portland; 11 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Frances ‘Frankie’ Fritz Spokane

Memorial service for Frances Esther Mae “Frankie” Fritz, 72, was held Wednesday at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home.

Mrs. Fritz, who died Sunday, was born Dickinson, N.D., and was raised in Coeur d’Alene.

She worked for Kaiser Aluminum and as a waitress at restaurants in the Coeur d’Alene area. She moved to Reno and worked for the Nevada Club for 33 years.

She moved to Spokane five years ago.

Her husband, Robert Fritz, died in 1990.

She is survived by six children, Leslie Barr of Reno, Marie Ramsey of Seattle, Donna Pearson of Coeur d’Alene, Richard Gilbert of Post Falls, Sheri Smith of Spirit Lake, Idaho, and Charles Pinzer of Culdesac, Idaho; one stepdaughter, Sandra Bramon of Eugene, Ore.; two brothers, Albert Loudenback of Newport, Ore., and Ira Loudenback of Coeur d’Alene; two sisters, Anita Metcalf of Spokane and Rita Miller of Sandpoint; 20 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Helen Dunn Sandpoint

Service for Helen Marie Dunn, 82, will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Coffelt’s Moon Chapel in Sandpoint. Coffelt Funeral Service of Sandpoint is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Dunn, who was born in Minneapolis, Minn., died Friday in Sandpoint.

She had previously lived in Proctor, Minn., where she worked as a waitress. She moved to Rapid Lightning Creek near Sandpoint in 1951.

She married James Dunn in 1952 in Coeur d’Alene and later moved to Colburn, Idaho.

She enjoyed sewing, knitting and gardening.

She was preceded in death by her husband.

Survivors include two daughters, Jan Kice and JoAnn McGuckin, both of Sandpoint; and nine grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.

Carol Brown St. Gabriel, La.

Service for Carol Ann Brown, 49, will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the Harrison Community Baptist Church of Harrison, Idaho. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in St. Maries. Yates-Hodge Funeral Home of St. Maries is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Brown, who was born in Spokane, died Monday in Baton Rouge, La., from injuries suffered in an automobile accident.

She grew up in Kellogg, where she graduated from high school in 1964. She went on to attend Eastern Washington University for several years before graduating from the University of Puget Sound with a degree in occupational therapy.

Mrs. Brown later moved to Carville, La., where she worked at a leprosarium.

She married Richard Brown in Kellogg in 1970 and lived in St. Gabriel, where she was a homemaker.

She was most recently the vice president of Baton Rouge Marine and Electric. She was also a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church of Baton Rouge.

Survivors include her husband, at home; one son, Brett Brown of St. Gabriel; one daughter, Heather Brown of Auburn, Ala.; parents, Charles and Ethelda Addington of Harrison; one sister, Charlene Burden of Pinehurst; two nieces and one nephew.

Olivia Thomson Spokane

No service will be held for Olivia J. Thomson, 92, at her request. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of cremation.

Born in Kansas, Mrs. Thomson died Monday.

She was a homemaker and had lived in Spokane for 50 years.

Her husband, George Thomson, preceded her in death.

There are no surviving family members.

Maxine Keison Edmonds, Wash.

Graveside service for Maxine Keison, 74, will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Pines Mausoleum in Spokane. Beck’s Funeral Home in Edmonds is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Keison died Sunday in Edmonds, where she had lived for less than a year.

She was born in Spokane.

She owned Maxine’s Beauty Shop and also did hair at Spokane-area care centers and for shut-ins.

She was a member of the Spokane Moose Lodge.

Mrs. Keison is survived by two daughters, Sharon Gunderson of Spokane and Susan Sabboubeh of Seattle; one son, Daniel Keison of Spokane; three brothers, Raymond and Larry Treffrey, both of Spokane, and Howard Treffrey of Graham, Wash.; two sisters Juanita and Iris, both of Seattle; and two grandchildren.

Robert Somerlott Colville, Wash.

Memorial service for Robert George Somerlott, 71, is set for 10 a.m. Friday at Danekas Funeral Home in Colville.

Mr. Somerlott, a lifetime Colville resident, died Friday.

He served in the Navy during World War II.

He worked in mines, construction, for Hewes Craft building boats and in commercial fishing. He retired after 35 years with the State Highway Department as a mechanic.

Mr. Somerlott is survived by his wife, Ceal Somerlott; three sons, Dan Somerlott of Mineral, Wash., Mike Somerlott of Colville and Bob Somerlott of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico; three daughters, Virginia Sieger of Estacada, Ore., and Susie Rothwell and Theresa Hirsch, both of Colville; one brother, Jack Somerlott of Portland; one sister, Roberta Naughton of King City, Ore.; and 13 grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children.

Ronald Thompson Sr. Ione, Wash.

Memorial service for Ronald Royal Thompson Sr., 86, will be at 1 p.m. today at Ione Baptist Church. Inurnment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Ione. Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home in Newport, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Thompson, who died Friday at home, was born in Onamia, Minn.

He and his wife, Ann Thompson, moved to Metaline Falls, Wash., from Minnesota in 1937. They later moved to Ione, where he worked as a logger and miner.

He was a member of the Newport Eagles Lodge.

His wife died in 1990.

Mr. Thompson’s survivors include six daughters, Patricia Newman and Linda Domitrovich, both of Ione, Sherry Barnes of Auburn, Wash., Marlene Hildebrand, Katy Rothenberger and Peggy Fenton, all of Seattle; two sons, Ronald Thompson Jr., of Seattle and Richard Thompson of Redding, Calif.; 22 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Frank Lavagetto Spokane

No service will be held for Frank T. Lavagetto, 80, at his request. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-South is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Lavagetto, who died Tuesday, was born in Spokane.

He graduated from Lewis and Clark High School and Washington State College.

He operated Angelo’s Flowers for 43 years and was a member of the downtown Kiwanis.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jane Lavagetto; two sons, Larry Lavagetto of Seattle and Jeffrey Lavagetto of Spokane; one daughter, Jill Fisher of Arizona; one sister, Alda Dee of Grangeville, Idaho; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Elizabeth Biles Plummer, Idaho

Service for Elizabeth Biles, 62, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Plummer Catholic Church. Burial will be at the Plummer Cemetery. Schanzenbach Funeral Home of Fairfield is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Biles, who died Sunday, was born in Spokane and was a longtime resident of the Plummer area.

She was a homemaker and was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by her husband of 21 years, Larry Biles; two sons, Chris Biles of Plummer and Richard Biles of Branson, Mo.; one stepdaughter, Linda Biles of Arizona; and five grandchildren.
