Dozens Of Earthquakes Shake Area Near Tokyo
Japanese seismologists noted dozens of earthquakes early today as activity in a quake danger zone near Tokyo heated up.
The largest of at least 22 quakes shook the seaside town of Ajiro, about 60 miles southwest of Tokyo.
It was centered near the ground and had a preliminary magnitude reading of 4.5, the Central Meteorological Agency said. In Ajiro, it was strong enough to sway buildings and slosh water around in a glass.
