S. Korean Students Attack Police Station

Compiled From Wire Services

Blaming police for the death of a student protester, activists pelted a police station with firebombs on Sunday, while police fired blanks to scare them away.

About 30 students hurled 50 firebombs at a police station in the provincial city of Taegu, 185 miles south of Seoul, setting small fires inside the building.

Protesters also smashed windows with steel pipes before they were pushed back by police firing blanks and tear gas. No arrests or serious injuries were reported, the national Yonhap news agency said.
