Hints From Heloise

King Features Syndicate

Dear Heloise:I bought new scented cat litter. My cat didn’t like it and avoided using the box until I went back to the old unscented litter. Do you know of a deodorizer I could use that my cat won’t dislike and will keep the odors down? - Carrie Jones, Seattle

Some cats refuse to use a litter box when there is a sudden change in the type of litter. Use the original litter and sprinkle it with baking soda at every change.

Baking soda will help control odor, but scoop every day. When washing the litter box, use plain soap and water, not strong scented disinfectants.
