Former L.A. Mayor Bradley Suffers Stroke

Former Mayor Tom Bradley suffered a stroke Thursday while recovering from heart surgery and lost his ability to move the right side of his body, his doctor said.

Bradley, 78, was in serious condition after the 5 a.m. stroke at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center, said Dr. Fred Alexander, who described Bradley’s vital signs as stable.

Bradley had a heart attack on March 20. He underwent triple bypass surgery Wednesday. Alexander described the surgery as a success.
