2 Swiss Citizens Shot To Death In Traffic Dispute

Compiled From Wire Services

Two Swiss citizens were fatally shot on a highway outside the capital, apparently after an argument with another driver, a U.N. spokesman said Friday.

Hubert Steinmann, who owned a local water-treatment plant, had picked up his mother, Annette Steinmann-Kung, and her sister at the airport and was driving them to his home Wednesday evening.

On a highway near the town of Croix des Bouquets, another vehicle bumped the rear end of Steinmann’s vehicle, said U.S. spokesman Eric Falt.

An argument apparently ensued and someone in the other car opened fire, killing Steinmann and his mother. The sister was unhurt.
